HAVE you ever thought about yourself apart from what you do?
Are you a nurse, a cook, a teacher or engineer? Do you love what you do or do you hate it? Or somewhere in between? I love what I do. I love to teach. It oozes from every part of my being. I am a born teacher. Yet, it's not what defines me.
My work does not define me.
The question is WHO am I in creation? I am God’s creation. I am not made of myself but I am made, not from human hands but God’s hands. May I quote one of the greatest books of history, it’s called Psalms. In it’s pages you find this lofty but sobering thought.
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14
I don’t find my worth in my work, though my work is important and unique on the earth. Work is as unique as each person doing it. It is defined by me but it does not define me. My value comes from the Creator Himself. Wow! Big words but very true.
“I will praise You,...and that my soul knows very well.”
What’s a soul you wonder? Does it make decisions on it’s own or does it have a destiny—a path per-ordained to follow? I think somewhere in between. Yes, we have all been created for a specific destiny but we must cooperate with the One who created this path to walk in it or else we walk a path of our own choosing that may lead us away from the true path we should be following.
So, what is this true path?
It’s the only one that leads to the ultimate truth. People often say, “O, let’s leave everyone to their opinion, afterall, God is everywhere and all faiths lead to him.” It sounds very wise but it rings hollow in the face of the One Truth. Will the real truth please stand up?
Yes, its’ the found in the wisdom in Psalms. The wisdom of the ages. Yes, it is ageless, and in it’s confines we can run in and are safe. In it we find, wisdom, love, peace; and yes,—purpose.
Now, our destiny has purpose and our work no longer defines us, instead, it’s our destiny that defines us as given to us by the One True Creator. He has the answers for our tired souls. He has the power to help us overcome difficult and challenging circumstances. Let’s face it, we can’t do it on our own, we need a power greater than ourselves and our situation to bring wholeness to our lives.
Warriors and Conquerors in Our Great Creator!
Yes, we are warriors, conquerors but not on our own but in the one who made us. He gave us His ageless wisdom in the form of a book and then told us to live by the principles in it’s pages. And when we do, we find the real peace and joy we are looking for.
Tonight is your night
On your bed tonight, ask Him to reveal himself to you. But, you must be receptive and open to what He does next. At first, it may seem that nothing is happening, but if you listen with all your heart, and remain patient, you will hear a still small voice speaking, and you will never be the same again. Don't do this just once but each night until you tune into His frequency like a radio to a wavelength channel. Are you ready to listen with all of your heart?
We must step through the veil into the realm of the Spirit of God and allow Him to transform us from the inside out. This takes time, practice and a willingness to see the results we are looking for. It is not for the faint of heart but for the brave of soul. He is waiting on the other side of the veil. He has so much to share with you. His desire is to hear about your day, listen to your troubles and rejoice in your victories. Are you ready to share?
Love to learn about your journey along life’s path,
Much love, Xenia
